Aatmasambhaavitaah stabdhaa
dhanamaanamadaanvitaah
Yajante naamayajnayste dambhenaavidhipoorvakam
(Gita 16/17 )
Lord Krishna while describing the
demonic qualities says that those
with such qualities take pride in
themselves, do not show respect
to great souls, are vainglorious
about their wealth and false prestige
and perform sacrifices in an unbecoming
manner.
ajo'pi sannavyayaatmaa bhootaanaameeshvaro'pi
san
prakritim svaamadhishthaaya sambhavaamyaatmamaayayaa
prakritim svaamavashtabhya visrijaami
punah punah
bhootagraamamimam kritsnamavasham
prakritervashaat
(Gita 4-6 and 9-8)
"Though I am birthless and
indestructible as well as the Lord
of all beings , taking control of
my prakriti I incarnate myself by
my own maya. As all the created
beings are under control of prakriti
and without freedom, I release these
beings again and again according
to their karma assuming my own prakriti."
Lord Krishna declares that the
enlightened souls treat a brahmin
endowed with scholarship and modesty
as well as a cow, an elephant, a
dog and also the one who eats the
dog's meat as similar and do not
distinguish among them.
vidyaa-vinaya-sampanne brahmane
gavi hastini
shuni chaiva shvapaake cha panditaah
samadarshinah
(Bhagavadgita 5/18 )
Only on seeing the Lord's Universal
Form, Arjuna felt a great remorse
and was astonished at the easy accessibility
of the Lord. Seeking the Lord's
pardon, Arjuna said that since he
had not known the Lord's greatness,
glory and Universal Lordship, he
had perpetrated many wrongs by word
or deed, thinking Krishna to be
merely his friend.
Sakheti matvaa prasabham yaduktam
He Krishna he yaadava he sakheti
Ajaanataa mahimaanam tavedam
Mayaa pramaadaatpranayena vaapi
Yachchaavahaasaarthamasatkrito'si
Vihaarashayyaasanabhojaneshu
Eko'thavaapyachyuta tatsamaksham
Tatkshaamaye tvaamahamaprameyam
